By someone’s clock I just rolled over 50. Age is truly nothing but a number. And, it’s not even that really.

I breathe no differently than I did ten years ago. My doctor said so and doctors know everything even though mine tells me I now need a colonoscopy.

  1. You’re not better off borrowing money you don’t have to buy things you can’t afford to impress people you don’t know.

  1. If you already know how to accomplish your goal, you’re aiming too low. Raise it. Venturing into the unknown is what tests your desire for something.

On Newton’s First Law of Motion…

  1. It’s much easier to direct a moving object than a stationary one.

On what to do with your body parts…

  1. Your body language will say more about you than any words that come out of your mouth.

On your undergarments…

  1. Wear clean underwear. In fact, write a book while in your underwear. If I did it, you can too.

On being brief…

  1. In business, cut your long story short. In friendship, keep your long story long. In love, make your long story longer.

On board games…

  1. Don’t be a chess piece. Be a chess player.

On eternity…

  1. Instant results will never be your best results. Anything of real value takes time and usually outlives its creator.

On happiness…

  1. No one who ever says “I just want to be happy” will ever actually be happy. Happiness is not something you get. It’s something you choose.

On my muscles are bigger than your muscles…

  1. No external achievement will ever be strong enough to outmuscle inner peace.

On making it look easy…

  1. People you think are amazing struggle just like you do. In fact, they struggle more often with bigger issues. That’s how they became amazing.

  1. Make an impression but don’t leave a dent.

  1. You can do anything, but not everything.

  1. If you refuse to learn the easy lessons, they become much harder.
