Are you paid what you’re worth?
If not, it might be time to sharpen the case you make to your employer.
Here’s the truth…
Your boss doesn’t walk around with a running tally of your contributions.
That’s your job.
And just like you wouldn’t go into an interview without a resume, you shouldn’t walk into a pay conversation without a business case for why you deserve more.
Here are five of the most powerful ways to prove your value:
Past Performance = Value realized through achievements. Review your track record of accomplishments and the measurable benefits to your company including revenue, savings, efficiency, growth.
Future Value = Projected contributions and benefits. Lay out how your current trajectory, new responsibilities, and upcoming initiatives will multiply your impact.
Replacement Cost = Market demand for your skills. Research what the market pays for your role and expertise. If there’s a gap, your company needs to reappraise you.
Brand = Reputation and trust you’ve built. Your relationships and track record generate trust, credibility, and political capital that the company relies on.
Influence = The performance lift you give others. Teams, projects, and colleagues rise higher because of your presence and leadership.
